PERFORMANCE TASK

Candidate will create an implementation plan using the SETT Framework Guide to analyze a student's learning needs based on the S - Student, E - Environments, T - Tasks and T -Tools. The framework will guide decision making about technology tools that can address learning obstacles. The candidate will present the implementation plan as an oral presentation, electronic document or video.
1. Detailed Task Information

In Technology Standard VI, Assistive Technology, each teacher candidate will understand human, equity and developmental issues surrounding the use of assistive technology to enhance student learning performance and apply that understanding to practice.

2. Scoring Tool

It is recommended that the teacher candidate use the scoring tool as a self-assessment before submitting the final product to the instructor. Score only the numbered elements by considering descriptors under that heading.

"The Promise of Technology 1" provides an overview of assistive technology and teacher resources, including the Student, Environment, Tasks, Tools/Technology (SETT) Framework.

"The Promise of Technology 2" highlights the value of assistive technology for assessment and instruction.

"The Practice of Technology " illustrates how a specific assistive technology is used with all students in a class for more effective learning.
